Dear Passenger,

Just to let you know that work continues overnight on the Brighton Main Line improvement project this Sunday, 5 May with lines re-opening at 09.30am.

There will be replacement buses between Three Bridges/Haywards Heath to Brighton.  Some Southern train services to/from London Victoria will operate but will be diverted between Haywards Heath and Brighton via Lewes with extended journey times. Trains will operate as normal from 09.30am, so passengers will be able to get to the Brighton Festival early on Sunday. Festival events on the Saturday will not be impacted as trains will run from London as normal.

Work taking place on the Brighton Main Line will include:
  • Keymer Junction to Montpelier
  • Re-railing at Preston Park
  • Scrap rail removal at Hassocks
We are still awaiting a date for the work which was postponed to accommodate Brighton fans travelling to the FA Cup semi-final (6 April). We will update you as soon as we have this information.

Please check if travelling between Lewes to Seaford on Saturday 4 & Sunday 5 May 2019. Buses will replace trains between Lewes and Seaford this weekend as engineering work takes place along the line.  Please check your journey before you travel on the National Rail Journey Planner
