- The COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective. They will give you the best protection against coronavirus. The NHS is currently vaccinating the over 65s and those who have been identified as clinically extremely vulnerable. Keep up to date with the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccination programme in Croydon by visiting this page, which is updated regularly: https://swlondonccg.nhs.uk/your-area/croydon/croydon-covid-19-vaccination-programme-update/
- The shielding list (people identified as clinically extremely vulnerable) has been expanded following the development of a new national COVID-19 risk assessment. These additional higher-risk patients will be informed by letter. There is more information on the update page.
- Over 70s who have not received their first dose should now book an appointment rather than wait to be contacted by the NHS. For more detail please refer to the FAQs on our Health Matters page.
- Surge testing is taking place in parts of Croydon where particular variants have been found (Pollards Hill last week, New Addington this week). Read more on the Council website here: https://www.croydon.gov.uk/healthsocial/phealth/covid-19-additional-testing-in-new-addington-and-fieldway
- Second dose appointments are arranged differently depending on whether you attend a vaccination centre or a GP-led hub. For more detail please refer to the FAQs on our Health Matters page.
- Coulsdon Library is now operating as a community testing centre for key workers who are asymptomatic. If you are eligible to be tested, you’ll receive an email from your employer. The centre does not offer walk-in appointments and is not for those with symptoms of COVID-19, who should book a test online or by calling 119.
- There continue to be engagement events for BAME communities, and useful coronavirus information is now available in a range of languages and formats. Learn more on the Croydon vaccination programme update page. You can find links to videos from two of Croydon’s faith leaders on the HADRA website.
- Please continue to follow all the guidance to control the virus and save lives – hands, face, space – even if you have already been vaccinated.
